Our Hut is looking for a small team of volunteers to work on an exciting new heritage and education project at Crystal Palace Park.
Sublime Structures at Crystal Palace Park
Our Sublime Structures at Crystal Palace Park project aims to increase understanding of Crystal Palace Park’s heritage and encourage more schools and families to visit this historical park.
The fun and engaging project will consist of workshops in schools, family events and result in educational resources and a family learning pack. The focus will be on the structures and buildings within Crystal Palace Park, buildings construction, engineering and usage.
We are currently recruiting for research volunteers.
About the research volunteer role
The research volunteer role will be to research the built heritage in Crystal Palace Park.
- research and collate information on specific structures/buildings in Crystal Palace Park
- organise permissions for inclusion of material in learning resources and family packs
- record information and photograph the structure/building and its features
- deliver the information and images to Our Hut in digital form within a 3 month time frame.
What we can offer you
Volunteers will be given a briefing/training session on the 15th November at the RIBA/V&A museum.
The training will be on accessing and using digital and physical archival material.
There will also be opportunities for participants to share and develop transferable skills.
You will be able to take part in family days at the park and we will have a final celebration event at the end of the project.
